Center Overview

Through this project, PEPNet-Northeast continues to work with secondary and postsecondary educational institutions in the northeastern United States to expand the array of secondary and postsecondary educational opportunities available and accessible to students who are deaf.

Methods

PEPNet-Northeast achieves its goals through the implementation of proven models, best practices, and innovative technology designed to meet the needs of target audiences across the region, and the nation. Through a network of site coordinators in every state in the region PEPNet-Northeast works with institutions currently serving deaf and hard of hearing students to improve their programs. With institutions not currently serving those students, PEPNet-Northeast works to develop programs collaboratively and in a cost effective manner. PEPNet-Northeast provides consultation, training, and planning and development assistance to staff at secondary and postsecondary educational institutions to enhance access and accommodations to programs by individuals who are deaf and to improve the basic skills of students before they transition to a postsecondary education environment.
